Pepper's first vaccination

Pepper went for his first vaccination today,
with MiaoMiao accompanying him



The assistant was very happy to see MiaoMiao,
she still remembers her!
("Oh, you grow so big already!")



Pepper didn't yelp or anything during the injection
maybe because MiaoMiao was there to support him?

The last time MiaoMiao went she was quite tramatised
for like one whole day

Lucky it was better for Pepper

Peek-a-boo!

Pepper knows how to play peek-a-boo too!

Pepper: "Don't disturb me lah, I want to sleep!"

Ougwee, too caught up in her crazy laughter,

continues her torturous game with Pepper

Mischievously smart Pepper

Pepper is mischievously smart in a way
He knows MiaoMiao can't really squeeze under the kitchen cabinet,
so when MiaoMiao is after him,
he runs (with much ease) into the gap under the kitchen cabinet,
while MiaoMiao can only look through from outside

It was quite amusing today,
as I was watching them during my lunch

As usual Pepper ran under the kitchen cabinet
MiaoMiao painstakingly squeezed herself into the gap

And in the process of her squeezing,
Pepper ran out of the gap again

See?
Pepper so naughty
and keep playing tricks on MiaoMiao

I don't like my food!

Now that MiaoMiao is approaching adulthood
(in about 3 months),
and that Pepper can take solid food,
we have decided to let MiaoMiao eat the
"Indoor Cat" diet (reduced calories)
and Pepper to start on the "Kitten" diet

The "Indoor Cat" diet is for sterilised adult cats
because of their lowered metabolism

But MiaoMiao doesn't really like her new food,
and keeps snitching from Pepper's bowl

Of course Pepper doesn't mind,
'cos he is snitching from MiaoMiao's bowl too!

If this carries on,
MiaoMiao will just get fatter and fatter,
while Pepper will get thinner and thinner

Hopefully they will learn to adjust
and love their OWN food after a while

"Considerate" Pepper

Now that Pepper is a lil' bit more grown up,
he starts to figure out
how to get to his mamas while they sleep!

But unlike his considerate mamas
who would never disturb him
while he is peacefully sleeping,
he just loves to make his presence known
to the asleep mamas

So Ougwee will never get to sleep beyond 8am,
if this goes on.

At 7am Pepper is still sleepily sprawled over Ougwee
(which is good of course!)
As the sky slowly brightens
and the time approaches 8am,
Pepper wakes up and starts nibbling on
whatever limbs that is in his sight

Thanksfully all those limbs
do not belong to Miss Linda,
so I still get to sleep on :)

But Ougwee argues that she actually has to get up for work
and so Pepper is actually being a sweet little boy

I just like to insist that MiaoMiao and Pepper are very naughty

Happy Birthday Kopi!
2 years since you came into our family

Kopi's birthday cake (the cake is actually a thick slice of carrot)

it was back to the cage for Kopi and BeanBean

Cry Blue Murder

It seems that Pepper need a wash
for his paws at least once every day,
the reason being that
he always steps into his poo somewhat and somehow

So there was this time
I brought him into the toilet
to wash his legs

He twisted around in his struggle
and made some sort-of meows of resistance

It was as if I was taking his life

Outside the toilet,
MiaoMiao sat and meowed pitifully,
apparently worried for Pepper's life

MiaoMiao,
there's no need to worry,
I won't murder your little Pepper

Sweet mother and son scene

A sweet video where Pepper tries to get milk out of MiaoMiao, whom he sees as his mum. ^^ Before that, Miaomiao was sleeping on the bed and Pepper was sleeping on the hammock out in the living room. Carried him and let him sleep with MiaoMiao..However, as usual he MUST wake MiaoMiao up. Started snuffling and circle-digging his nose into MiaoMiao's tummy. Finally, he settled on a spot and suckled hungrily. (Even though there was no milk, cuz MiaoMiao is sterilised!) After which, there was a huge damp spot on MiaoMiao's tummy. She is such a sweet and caring mum to Pepper..

The birth of a new friendship

MiaoMiao was rather mean to Pepper
when he just came

She snarled and hissed at him,
and growled whenever he came near her
while she was eating

Now MiaoMiao takes very good care of Pepper :)
She licks him clean from time to time,
just that Pepper doesn't know it's cleaning time
and thinks that MiaoMiao is playing with him

She is like a mother to him
Pepper gets to practise pouncing on her tail
(How mothers teach kitten how to catch preys)
And they play together all the time


Just that....
MiaoMiao doesn't seem to like
playing hide-and-seek with us already =(

Pepper goes to the vet

It's Pepper's first visit to the vet clinic today!

And we were thinking that
he was so brave,
because while in the cab
he didn't seem to be one bit scared
(MiaoMiao is very scared of taking cabs!)

Then I asked Emily:
"Maybe he is not scared because
he haven't realised that he is in a cab yet?"

I asked this because Pepper seem to be,
erm..a little WOLS

Then she agreed:
"Ya, maybe hor"

Sure enough,
just as when we were arriving at the clinic,
Pepper started making his sore-throat meowing sounds,
and was quite jittery and frightened.

*shake head*

The doctor diagnosed that
Pepper was having cat flu,
so now he has to take antibiotics and nutrition support!
And also eye gel to be applied inside the eye

But the antibiotics kinda smell like chocolate,
and the nutrition gel is also quite nice-smelling,
so he should be able to bear with it for these 2 weeks right?

And apparently the flu is the cause of his sore-throaty meow.
So I should be less mean and not make fun of his meowing sound

It was worse on the way back,
because by then Peppper realised that he was on a cab.
and started scratching at whatever was outside his carrier
(which includes my poor little finger)
And he started a louder sore-throaty meow,
from the start til the end of the journey

Thank you taxi uncle for not throwing us off the cab

Pepper immediately looked for MiaoMiao
when we reached home
Complain King...

They are going all, all the way to the south of Singapore

So far!

Hope that they will be treated well over there

They'd better not keep scratching and biting

their new owners,

and also spare the toilet paper rolls over there

Introduction to Pepper

Now more about Pepper,
new member of our family

Before this he was called Slyvester,
because if you look at the cartoon cat Slyvester:








Doesn't he look so much alike? :P


But we decided to call him Pepper instead
forgot the reason why anyway

One of the good thing?
He can stay with MiaoMiao
because MiaoMiao likes him better now,
and even helps lick him clean
and play hide-and-seek with him
Thing is,
he has to stop trying to look for milk over at MiaoMiao,
she doesn't like anything to come near her stomach

Quite a sight to see him poking around at MiaoMiao's stomach

Pepper is erm..not very smart at times
Obviously when you eat,
you shouldn't stuff your whole face into the food
and make your face dirty right?

And after he poos
he takes 2 steps forward
and starts burying the litter,
so that he steps right into his poo
and ends up burying a clean spot instead

He will be going to the vet tomorrow
He seems to be a little unwell,
keeps sneezing now and then
and get snot all over his face

Hope it's nothing serious

MiaoMiao may want to teach him how to meow nicely,
because looking at how he is meowing now,
it's easy to think that he is nursing a sore throat

What a scam...

Wells,

as I've expected,

Bella was the first to be adopted

since she has this very alluring look,

and was the most "post-card" cat of them all

What is rather absurd is that

this adopter,

within hours of adopting Bella,

put her back up for adoption.

This was the message on the board:

" My friend found it and I am helping to

take care of it until adoption, as she has another 3

more already. anyone kind soul wishes to adopt her

pls contact me asap. [:

Submitted on July 10, 2009, 3:09am"

Bella was "adopted" by him just yesterday

And I think there are a few errors we need to look at.

First of all, we are obviously NOT friends.

Secondly, he had confidently promised to adopt

Bella permanently,

and told Emily that he had no problems in keeping Bella.

Thirdly,

as noble as this message may sound,

NEVER NEVER be deceived.

("Why would I do that when I spent $100 on her?")

We are obviously not Internet idiots.
And in case he hasn't noticed,
the cat's name is the same,
and his contact number is also the same.

4 new kittens

A while ago there was a cat near our house
with 4 little kittens
She just got pregnant again
so she doesn't want the babies anymore :(

An old lady took the box of kittens to Emily
(who happened to walk past)
and said
"Find a home for them, their mother doesn't want them.
If you can't find, just throw them away..."

(Throw where? We wonder...)

So now we have 4 kittens in our house
and MiaoMiao doesn't like them at all,
she kept snarling at them.

Petty cat isn't it?

It just looked like an auntie bullying a little kid

We are back to the poop and bad scratches time

like when MiaoMiao just came

The mioTV guys came to install mioTV on our television today

MiaoMiao came out of the bedroom,
saw 2 guys standing there,
froze,
and ran back into the bedroom for safety

Then she hid under the bed,
not daring to come out

So poor thing!

After a while she decided to be braver and
inched out of her safety zone again

Oh no!
The two bad guys still there
Back into the bedroom for MiaoMiao

To think that they actually seemed to like cats

It was only until they left our house
that MiaoMiao dared to walk around the house
like the queen cat she was

Hope that MiaoMiao will drop her habit of lying on the TV though

We now have a new set on top of the TV,

and I think we have to pay if it gets spoilt?

We are going to call her Nana I think

Lucky for him,
his eyes are not those beady type,
so MiaoMiao can't bite his eyes off

Quick update

Apologies for the recent drought of blog entries..

Now for a quick update of the miao and the wheeks

Kopi decides to be a lil' bit braver and joins in the meal with MiaoMiao and BeanBean

(Kopi: "The Cat is not that scary after all....I think")

And MiaoMiao decides that Kopi is not the only one who can use the computer.

She forgets that she is not that light anymore...

Ougwee holds her breath while this happens,

worrying for her laptop....

And FINALLY,

MiaoMiao is using the hammock that I made for her!
