MiaoMiao was taking a walk
out on the corridors last night.
Then she sneaked past me
to the neighbour's house
At about 5 to 10 seconds
after she did that,
I started to realise
MiaoMiao was not in sight
Then I looked over to the neighbour's house,
and she had her two front paws on their front steps,
and she was looking in curiously
I don't know if she was intending to walk in though
Then she saw me
and she quickly ran back
(MiaoMiao always know when
she has done something she shouldn't be doing)
Quite embarrassing
because their door was open
and they must have saw MiaoMiao peering at them
We already on so many incidents
had to retrieve MiaoMiao from in between their flower pots
It's just lucky that she didn't walk right into their house

Pepper's important duties
Wednesday, August 26, 2009
Time off please!
MiaoMiao seems to need time off from Pepper nowadays
Understandable,
given that Pepper loves to jump on and attack her tail,
even when she is not in the mood
And for us the poor mamas,
our hands'd better not make too much movement
while we are around him,
or he would start trying to catch our hands
Glaring at him and
talking in a firm tone with him doesn't work
He doesn't seem to even realise
that we are angry with him!
So he stares at us,
and sticks out his tongue lazily
Really. I'm not bluffing
I guess that is why in the human world
we have nurseries.
Maybe some mums need time off
from their screaming toddlers too

In the cold night
For the last few nights
both MiaoMiao and Pepper
knew where was the right place to go,
when the night was cold
MiaoMiao sneaked into our bedroom
and jumped onto my bed,
where she could sit and look out the window
Perhaps another reason is that
Pepper still can't really jump onto my bed,
so he will never be able
to disturb her where she is
Unfortunately,
on that one morning when I woke up,
mind still fuzzy,
I mistook her for a pile of stuff
on the side of my bed,
and attempted to move this stuff
onto another part of my bed,
so that I could climb down
the ladder of my double decker bed
She, of course, was not too happy
about that misunderstanding.
Pepper,
on the other hand,
cuddled in Ougwee's arms at night,
and slept very warm and soundly
til breakfast time
On another occasion
he was sprawled across Ougwee's neck,
He must know that was
where would keep him warm

Pepper's mum
It was when I was writing the blog entry,
about the mother cat and her litter,
that we realised,
that is NOT Pepper's mum at all!
Nor was she the mother of either
Jasper, Bella or Queenie

Because we were looking at this photo here,
and this photo has three kittens,
which was obviously not any one of them!
I admit it wasn't that obvious to me
So we don't know who Pepper's mum is.
But he has a good mother cat right at home,
so guess it's not important to know anyway

The hammock
It's funny that
in the past MiaoMiao used to be smaller and lighter,
she didn't like using the hammock one bit
Now that she is bigger and not so light,
she decides to lie in the hammock!
Maybe she finally sees
how good the hammock is,
that Pepper can simply fall asleep inside
I wonder how long the hammock
can hold for though...
The kitten left behind
Saw Pepper's mum at the coffeeshop
about 10 minutes from our house.

Did I mention that Peony (our name for her)
has very pretty eyes?
Queenie is the lucky kid
who inherited that trait from her

Wells,
we found that all the while
when we thought Peony only had 4 kittens,
she actually had 5,
and the fifth one is now with her!

he is sort of a very panicky little kitten...
We finally figured out
which was the brown tailed kitten
in the litter then..
We thought it was Jasper the pure-ginger-coloured kitten,
but it turned out to be him instead

It would have been better
if he was picked back the other time,
along with his siblings
Then he would have gotten a home
I don't think Pepper realise
that he is quite fortunate
In his hyperactive mode,
he play-attacks your hand
when all you want to do is to sayang him
about 10 minutes from our house.

The Hungry MiaoMiao
The Hungry MiaoMiao in the past,
would meow pleadingly,
rub her little head against your legs,
until you got the hint and gave her some food
The Hungry MiaoMiao today,
have found a more sophisicated way of letting you know.
She now sits at that position,
in front of her food dish,
and looks at you.
Then Mum will go,
"MiaoMiao is hungry already..."
And she will get her food!
Better isn't it?
At least she won't risk losing her hair
due to excessive head rubbing

The exertion of poo-ing
Just a few minutes ago
Pepper woke up from his nap
and went to the litter box to do his poo business
I think the exertion of pushing his poo out may be too much for him
With half opened sleepy eyes
he squatted on the sand
Halfway through,he lifted his front paws
so that he was in standing position
Then when the poo was on its way out,
he placed his paws on the sand again.
Yea!
Thank goodness he managed to bury his poopoo properly
unlike his usual habit of smearing his poopoo with his paws
or sweeping sand out when he is over enthusiatic with the litter box business.

I confess!
What a shock
I got a shock when I saw Miaomiao's belly just now
MiaoMiao was lying sideway,
outside the bathroom
I squatted down to pet her.
At that moment I saw a gaping hole
on her belly
"Oh no! Her wound from her sterilisation
must have split open!" I thought
I immediately called Ougwee to come over
She took one look and said:
" No lah, is Pepper suck on her stomach,
that's why like that"
The gaping hole I thought I saw
was merely due to suckling and Pepper's saliva,
making the spot look bare and white.
Pepper just never gives up trying to
suckle non-existent milk from MiaoMiao
I wonder if Pepper ate some of MiaoMiao's fur,
because there was a bare spot larger than a 50 cent coin,
hence the alarm you see.
It didn't really occur to me that
the sterilisation was done 3 to 4 months ago,
and the wound wouldn't have split open,
since it recovered completely already
Thanks Pepper for giving me that shock,
it helps a lot in promoting blood circulation

The Missing Ribs
As provided by Hill's Science Diet Guide,
it states:
"If your cat is at her ideal weight
you should be able to easily feel
her ribs and she should have no sagging around the stomach."
MiaoMiao,
your ribs have gone missing!
and while we are looking for it,
please do not meow for your food
after having eaten 10 minutes ago.
Though your name is MiaoMiao,
that doesn't mean you have to meow all the time
Not that we mind though,
about your missing ribs.
You are quite cuddly like a little teddy bear! :)
We won't be too harsh on her
since she is still within the normal weight range
(How did we find out her weight?
Wells, we used the kitchen scale to measure her weight.
Ooops!)

Been there, done that
Pepper was rather naughty yesterday,
and so got closed in the carrier
for disturbing the guinea pigs
Lucky him.
Throughout his "imprisonment"
MiaoMiao stayed outside the carrier,
licking him and putting her paw through,
as if consoling him
For your information,
MiaoMiao is a "been there done that" cat.
so I guess she understands
Pepper'd better take good care of Miaomiao
when he grows up

The Mangled Newspaper
I couldn't read my newspaper in peace just now
How could I,
when Pepper was jumping all over my newspaper,
chewing on each corner of the paper every 15 seconds?
In the end
I was left with a very mangled looking newspaper,
courtesy of MR Pepper
Linda: " Pepper, don't play with the newspaper already,
you see MiaoMiao at there, go play with her..."
Ougwee: " Stop pushing everything to MiaoMiao!"
Maybe I shouldn't have done that.
For once MiaoMiao could lie down
without Pepper jumping on her tail every 5 seconds.
