We kept having to buy toilet paper
so there was this discussion we had,
about why the toilet paper ran out so fast
I said "Of course use very fast,
we use toilet paper for wiping their food dish,
litter tray etc..."
I forgot what was the middle of the discussion like,
but Emily then said
"We have to consider that about one or two toilet paper rolls
are destroyed by Pepper or Momo each month"
Okay. Case closed.

Health check up time
Got a weighing scale now
so we weighed the three cats today
Miaomiao: 3.5 kg (gained weight! :))
Pepper: 4kg (gained a bit of weight from that time he lost weight)
Momo: 4.6kg (gained A LOT of weight. Not surprisingly)
After that Pepper started digging the bottom of the scale,
since the scale is those glass panel type,
there's a gap beneath,
and he kept putting his paw in,
trying to dig SOMETHING out,
but I don't know what
Pepper is our future archeologist :)

Strings attached
It's 20 days since the last vet consultation,
and the pill prescription is about through
Miaomiao finished her antibiotics,
Pepper has got one last pill tomorrow morning
and Momo has two more pills
(supposed to be only one more though. oops.)
Pepper has a more acute sense of human intuition
than the other two,
so whenever we are going to feed him his medicine,
he feels that dark aura,
and immediately runs to hide under the bed!
Then we will try to lure him out,
using his weak spot,
which is moving strings!!!
Without fail he falls for the trick
and runs out to catch the string
In order to ease our guilt a little,
we carry him to walk around for one minute,
before forcing the pill down his throat
But wells,
I think he will just figure out
the association between the moving string
and the pill soon,
and stop being trick
If they all get well (as in REALLY well),
it will be a very nice present for me

A fine sleeping place for Momo
Caught Momo sleeping in the litter tray
while I was preparing to go for work one morning
Sure,
he looked so cute and comfy
sleeping in that position,
but it was simply a no-no to sleep in there,
especially when there was poo in the litter tray
Got him out of the litter tray
and scolded him,
though I don't know how much of that
got into his head
I continued with my own stuff,
and then there he was,
back in the litter tray
(now without poo)
Of course he was grabbed out
and given a scolding again
And this happened a third time
I then realised that he had been doing this alot
when I tattle-taled on him to the other 2 mamas
That's the bad thing about using finer grained litter,
it gets too comfortable for Momo

Momo's sterilisation: The aftermath
The day after Momo was sterilised,
Pepper slept at my bed.
I guess he knew that
Momo wouldn't be able to disturb him
since he was quite tired
When I woke up
Momo did not forget his daily routine
of "screaming" at the top of his lungs.
For food, of course
Then I poured food for him,
and he half-sat to eat his breakfast.
So poor thing,
he couldn't even sit flat on his butt
But anyway,
he's fine now
I'm hoping that the sterilisation would
calm his hormones and
reduce his occasions of acting like a hyperactive cat,
but I guess his hormones are still running wild

Momo's sterilisation
Finally today it was Momo's turn
for his sterilisation trip.
Since I was at work today,
I was kept updated by Emily's MMS's
(while putting in my efforts to save goods
from being destroyed by THE Orchard Flood haha!)
The charges for sterilisation are now more expensive,
$64 up from $55 previously
And now that the clinic charges GST,
what we now have to pay is wells.. very different
The assistant at the vet clinic was brave enough
to put his hand in to get Momo out,
because most will just ask us to get him out.
The carrier, on the counter top,
started shifting and shifting to one side.
Ougwee peered over to see that
Momo had tried to move into and into the carrier
to avoid the assistant's hand,
causing the carrier to shift.
Momo got happy for nothing
when he was placed back into the carrier,
only to see his mamas leave the carrier at the vet clinic,
and not taking him home!
Anyway Momo is home now,
and it took quite a while for Emily and Ougwee
to convince him that he was not about to
wake up in the vet clinic if he went to sleep
So Momo is sleeping on Ougwee's bag,
once in a while making funny noises in his nose,
or snoring as usual
So poor thing,
when he walks it looks quite painful
Hope he will be better tomorrow
for his sterilisation trip.

Momo celebrates Dragonboat Festival
The Dragonboat Festival (端午节)
is coming soon,
and Popo bought dumplings home,
courtesy of our Aunt
When she came home,
she left the dumplings on the kitchen table
Pepper stood on the stool,
placing his paws on the table,
and took a sniff.
But that was all Pepper did.
With Momo,
who has the same motto as in retail service
(GO THE EXTRA MILE!!!),
things of course had to be different.
Instead of stopping at taking a sniff,
he used his teeth to grab on to one of the dumplings,
and carried it ..... all the way to the living room
Ougwee caught him doing that,
and of course tried to stop him.
He quickly ran off
Then he thought if he had to be scolded,
it had to be worth the scolding!
Before Ougwee got back the dumpling,
he put out a paw
and hit the dumpling hard
Then when Ougwee got the dumpling,
he tried to snatch it back again,
in the process tearing the string

Quick Update
1. Miaomiao has gotten quite traumatised by
the constant feeding of pills and meows very
pitifully when we feed her pills. In fact, quite
desperately pitiful kind.
2. After the struggle with Pee Wee, we had no
choice but to change back to the 100% sodium
bentonite Tom and Pus, before Miaomiao
released her 2-days-pent-up poo.
3. Momo is going for sterilisation on 16 June
We are making the appointment soon
4. Pepper doesn't quite like to sleep with me anymore :(
5. Momo is less stinky now, perhaps because his tooth
has dropped out and his mouth is not so stinky.
6. Momo likes to greet his barely-awake mamas with his
classic Yaa-aah!!!!, which I say to him " You Yaa-aah so loud for what?"
Barely-awake people are not nice to Yaa-aah at.

No tooth fairy
Momo's loose tooth finally dropped out!
No tooth fairy for him though....
And I think the one on the other side
is dropping out soon...

Momo's loose tooth
Momo's left big tooth is coming loose!
It should be because
his milk teeth are being replaced,
though I'm not sure whether
his teeth are actually dropping out
because he has been biting on other cats too hard or something
Anyway when we were trying to feed him antibiotics today,
and I was trying to pry open his teeth,
he jumped back in pain and cried out.
I didn't figured that his teeth was painful,
thought he was trying to resist his medicine,
so I tried again.
Same thing happened.
Then I saw his bleeding tooth,
which was a bit loose and
I could swing it around a bit
So poor thing!
So we didn't manage to feed him
cos it was causing him pain
Ougwee later suggested putting it in his food.
Luckily, being the gobbler he was,
he ate up the pill with the food,
although he did pause to smell it a little
Task accomplished.

Momo and the pill
It was my first time
feeding Momo a tablet yesterday,
and it was certainly not a good experience
First I put the tablet into his mouth
Then I held his mouth closed
and blew into his nostrils,
to induce the swallowing of the tablet
Then I started laughing.
Not because he looks cute like that,
but rather when I blew into his nostrils
his bad breath puffed into my face,
like when you blow at a cup of coffee,
the smell of it will come up.
Don't try telling me it was my own mouth,
it wasn't like that
when I was feeding Pepper and Miaomiao
It's quite OMG
to have that sort of stench puff into your face
each time you blow
And today,
Momo in a bid not to take the pill,
clenched his teeth together
so that I could not pry open his mouth
Actually I still could,
just that I has to apply more force.
And when I successfully pry open his mouth,
I smell that stench again

The mean Pepper
The mean Pepper pressed his paw down
on my "on/off" button on the laptop,
promptly shutting down my laptop
(Mama it's time to play with me!)
And Pepper,
I don't need help (F1),
or caret browsing or whatsoever,
stop pressing the laptop keys
on my "on/off" button on the laptop,
promptly shutting down my laptop
(Mama it's time to play with me!)

Recover please recover please!!!
The same old story
that everyone would be tired of listening/reading
The back-to-the-vet story
We are about broke
taking them to the vet one after the other
This time the vet suggested treating them
on antibiotics all at one go,
since we were worried about this
never ending spreading cycle
So they are all going on a 20-day antibiotics treatment
Hope it turns out well
The vet's assistant in the room
was as nice and helpful as ever,
even consoling Miaomiao when she was frightened
On the other hand,
the receptionist is still as forgetful as ever,
always forgetting to give us this and that all the time,
and never looking apologetic
that everyone would be tired of listening/reading

Pepper's birthday
Pepper, it's not your birthday today!!
To show his vehement protest
for us not letting him eat the cake,
he ate the side of the cake box
Another one of Pepper's many favourite food, satay
The last time we bought satay back,
he took out one stick,
intending to take it to the guinea pigs' cage
to enjoy it slowly
After so long, he still tries....
