Pepper after bathing

I haven't gotten completely dry from after bathing,
so I must NOT fall asleep or I'll get mouldy
(Trying to keep awake in a sitting position)

Plan failed.
(Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)

Toys!

The cats' Popo has on some occasions,
bought nice toys to entertain the cats with

However,
her idea of nice is not exactly parallel
to the mamas' idea of nice.

Toy #1:
Wooden Snake

We had to get used to the idea
that it was not a real snake,
before daring to use it to play with Miaomiao
Miaomiao quite liked it though...

Toy #2:
Some plastic frog that is supposed to be placed in the bathtub

We are absolutely repulsive of frogs!
it's lying somewhere on the table,
untouched.

Victimised Miaomiao

There was a loud yelp coming from Miaomiao,
and the next thing we knew,
there was a tuft of her fur in Momo's mouth

Poor Miaomiao
Everyone scolded Momo on her behalf,
but I think Momo wasn't affected much

How to ask for food

Ougwee's explanation on why
Pepper is better for begging for treats
than the other two cats.

When Pepper wants us to feed him some Fussy Cat,
he goes "Or-ell!" in this rather musical meow,
and we go all soft hearted because
he rarely meow that way since very long

So he gets his Fussy Cat

When Momo wants his food
he screams : "AH!! AH!!"

When Miaomiao wants food
she meows demandingly
"NEOW-NEOW!"

Which can sound rather rude and demanding,
both Miaomiao and Momo, at times

Tone of request is very important you see..

Miaomiao back to modelling career

Miaomiao in her little girl dress

But she doesn't like this one so much!
She complains spaghetti straps are too revealing

Actually it's because she doesn't have shoulders
to hold the straps in place :(

Momo's lesson

We have unknowning created a verb
in honour of Momo

We were discussing about how
Momo loved to "launch-pad"
on our face, hair, arm etc.

launch-pad (verb):
using something as a surface to help
propel one off when jumping

I think the inspiration is from
The Diary of the Wimpy Kid,
cos Greg's dog always do that to him

(We are not alone! :D)

Thanksfully my hair did not drop out from my scalp,
and more thankfully I didn't get disfigured when sleeping,
cos my hair was covering my face.

But somewhat some damage have also been done.
With Momo around
I learnt that arms good for propelling cats!

I believe I'm not the only one who learnt such an interesting fact

Miaomiao!

Miaomiao our little ballerina :)

The new door

Now that we have just changed the door,
and the doors now have magnetic door stoppers at the back,
so it doesn't have this hook that can be hooked on
to this hook-hole in the wall to hold the door

In the past,
when the bedroom door was closed
and Pepper or Momo wanted to get out,
all they had to do was to swing their paw
at the hook on the door,
so that the hook would knock against the door,
then someone would hear them and let them out

Miaomiao's method was more demure;
she miaowed till someone heard her

But now not only the new door doesn't have the hook,
it is also much more soundproof,
so we can't really hear them when they want to get out!

Miaomiao just kept meowing and meowing,
til someone finally opened the door to let her out

Cats vs. Dogs

Emily has (had) a SPCA poster,
with a dog and a cat cuddling together,
accompanied with the slogan
"Friends forever".

Yesterday Pepper was on her bed,
then out of the sudden
he stood up on his hind paws
and tore the poster using his two front paws

Then he sat there looking very innocent

What probably was going through his head was:
"Cats and dogs can never be friends! NEVER!!!"

If not I don't know why he decided to do that
to the poster either...

Glorious Sunday morning

Today is a Sunday
and once again Momo didn't really figure that out

He went "Ah! Ah!" in the bedroom,
then probably Ougwee carried him out of the room
and shut the bedroom door.

So once in a while he "Ahh!"-ed outside the door,
persistent in his attempt to wake all his mamas up
to enjoy the glorious Sunday morning

Later I woke up,
and went to entertain him,
carried him around the house etc.

He was pretty persturbed that Emily has not waken up,
and went "Ah-ya-ya-yya-ah!"
outside the bedroom door,
in a howling manner

He only quietened down
when after that,
he managed to wake Emily up too.

Miaomiao's toy

Miaomiao is a self-creator of her toys.
Her many toys include
the netting package of the onion bought from NTUC,
and recently she found another new toy:
a piece of Pee Wee pellet,
found amongst many other pellets in her litter tray!

For some reason
she finds much enjoyment
kicking around a tiny pellet with her right paw.

Once she caught Emily returning the pellet
to its original place (the litter tray),
and she stared as if wondering
if Emily was in her right mind.

Cunning Momo

I realise these few mornings,
when Popo and I are awake,
Momo would go to Popo to beg for food.

He's smart,
he knows Popo is more likely to give him food

And his Popo would be saying to me
"Momo got eat? Feed him some food"

Which I would tell her no,
cos Momo already had his morning feeding

Then she would say:
"Just feed him a little will do lah"

I suspect his Popo must have gone soft-hearted before
If not why does Momo go specifically to her to ask for food?

Pepper the timid cat

We got our doors changed today,
so there is this paint smell lingering in our house

Poor Pepper,
ever since the person came to change the door
(in the morning),
he got so stressed and kept hiding behind the television

Even when we managed to lure him out,
he would return back to his hiding place after a while

Maybe the change of smell at home
is also a cause of disturbance for him

Anyway,
today when the person came over,
Miaomiao squeezed herself
somewhere into the window grille,
where she thought she wouldn't be seen.
Pepper hid in the corner of the room under the bed.
and Momo tried to bury himself in my bed

Observations made when sitting in the kitchen having dinner

1. Miaomiao: "NEOW NEOW!", while there is
still food in her dish. When no one gets up to refill her dish,
she looks up at us with an extremely disappointed expression.
Which causes us to burst out laughing, she looks very comical.

2. Pepper accompanies us for dinner and sits on a chair beside us.

3. Sometimes he forgets he is supposed to accompany us and not
eat with us, so he comes up a little too close for comfort.

4. Miaomiao "NEOW NEOW!!!!!!!" again. Someone has to stop
eating for a while and hold up her dish to her mouth so that she
will start eating. She eats four pellets and struts off.

5. Pepper goes to his dish and waits for food. Someone pours food for him.

6. Momo, upon hearing the sound of food pellets pouring out, dashes into the
kitchen, looking expectantly for his food. His food is rationed, so no one feeds him.

7. While no one is looking he starts eating from Pepper's dish. Pepper looks up helplessly.
Someone comes over to rescue Pepper. Pepper continues eating.

8. Miaomiao walks into the kitchen, sits at her dish and "NEOW NEOW!".
Again there is food in her dish, but she continues to give us that comical accusing
    expression.

9. Someone shakes her dish lightly in front of her. Satisfied that her food pellets can actually
move across the dish, she eats a few more pellets again

Painting works!

Our block is undergoing painting right now.

Miaomiao was so curious when
she saw a painting long stick
moving outside the living room window
(The workers were painting the part
above our window)

So she went to see why there was something moving,
and jumped up on the television to see

After a while she realised that those people
probably wasn't people she was familiar with,
so she ran into the bedroom and hid
(As usual)

Pepper hides himself under the bed all the time

Momo is the only brave one
who tries to peek under the door
to see what's going on outside

How to be comfortable

The three cats are pretty smart in
making themselves comfortable

When I stroke their chins,
they rotate their heads like a fan,
so that all sides of their chin
get an even distribution of stroking

Miaomiao even turns her chin upwards while lying,
when she knows someone is coming into the room
