The strategy for hungry cats

When Momo is perpetually hungry,
this is what we have to do.....

At 10.58pm

It was about 10.57pm

Linda was at her laptop for some project discussion.
Emily and Ougwee were both asleep.
One of the bedroom doors were left slightly ajar.

Then the door hit lightly against the door frame
pom
then again
pom

so the door was hitting lightly against the door frame repeatedly

No one was seen at the door.



Momo was in the room
and wanted to get out,
so the only thing he could do was to
push his body against the door
to try to open it.
Hence the moving of the door.

What Happens at Night III

Woke up quite a few times in the middle of the night
perhaps due to caffeine from drinking green tea last night

Then each time I woke up
I checked the window for Fat Cat

(Fat Cat a.k.a 肥猫 is the name we have
for this very obnoxious stray cat downstairs.
I just have some grudges with her.
She's not that fat anymore,
but somehow the name stuck)

Anyway,
recently she and her same-colour pal
decided to come up to visit (twice),
and even howled at our door
making noise in the middle of the night

According to what is on the SPCA page,
stray cats do this sometimes
because they are unhappy why
their lives is so different from those in the house

Makes sense to me,
cos I actually observed that each time
we took in a cat,
she would appear outside our door

We would always wonder
how on earth she climbed all the way up

Anyway,
digressions aside,
the first time they came
I hit the window to scare them again.

But I think the following night
they were still around

So now we have a spray bottle placed near the window,
so that if they come again,
I will get up from my bed and
spray them with water

Hopefully this will deter them from coming up
for the next few months

It sounds cruel of us,
but seriously we have to do this.

Actually I went around Pets' Lovers Centre
and the DIY store to look for those powder
to put on the corridor
to deter cats from coming

But I didn't see it on the shelf,
and I didn't really dare to ask the counter staff,
because I thought asking
"Do you sell those powder which get rids of cats?"
makes me sound like some sort of a mean cat hater.

Shall see if the water spray method works first.

What Happens at Night II

As for Momo,
he came up to sleep besides my pillow.

He rested his head on the side of my pillow,
then:

SNORE.....SNORE......SNORE

Somewhat it's still a comfort
to sleep with his snoring sound beside me

What Happens at Night I

Today our dear Neow Neow went ~~!
(her new sound which I don't know how to spell out)
at around 5am,
cos she wanted her breakfast

As usual,
she was perched on the railing of Emily's bed,
directing her meows directly to her face

I got up and carried Miaomiao,
and held her in my sleeping position.

She didn't want to stay in my arms,
and kept struggling to get out.
She successfully struggled her way out,
and rushed over to Emily's bed.

Of course,
she MUST do her face-to-face trick to Emily
(She is also smart in the sense in that
she knows who is the first one in the family waking up)

Pepper's eyelid

Noticed a bald area above Pepper's right eyelid yesterday.
Not sure why is it like that,
because we didn't notice him scratching his face recently

He is quite a vulnerable little cat,
(he gets stressed or sick more easily)
that it seems quite ridiculous that
most people on first impression
would see him as a fierce or predatory type of cat

Hope that the eyelid will recover.

MIB II

The feline version of Men in Black II

Chestnuts!

Today Ougwee opened the packet
of roasted chestnuts to eat.

Turns out that the cats LOVE chestnuts!

They all came and sniff at the packet.
Even Miaomiao the loyal Science diet fan
took some time to come over.

Quoted by Ougwee on what happened after:
All it takes is one Miaomiao hiss
and one whack of the Miaomiao paw,
and the two boys (Pepper and Momo)
didn't dare to eat.
After that she used her paw
and touched the chestnut,
and then stared at both of them sternly.
She suddenly decided that it's not worth
stopping to such a low level
then she didn't want to eat it.

Snore Snore

Snoring was heard in the living room.

We didn't see Momo in his usual sleeping place (the chair).

But Ougwee insists she did hear the snoring!

She then went to look around the living room,

and found our dear snoring engine sleeping in the box

New scratching post!

Just got a new scratching post for the cats.

The scratching post business must be quite lucrative,

because those in Pets' Lovers Centre

are made up of compressed cardboard stacks

which probably cost much less than what they sell for

Anyway, there was one at $8 plus,

so here's their new scratching post!

Pepper loved it the most

There was this packet of catnip powder

to be rubbed on the scratching post,

and when he smelled it,

he got so happy and "molested"

the scratching post here and there,

while rolling around on the floor

                                                     Miaomiao the 孤癖虫 loved it too!

                                    Although initially she was scared of the scratching post.

                                          They didn't realise that it's a scratching post,

                                                              not a touching post.

                                            

But thing is,

they keep licking the post more

than using it for their claws..

A Taste of Chilli

Today Momo tried to snitch chilli mashed prawns
from the dining table while no one was looking

I happened to catch him
when his mouth was very near his target,
and he sprinted off, having been caught red-pawed

Now that I think again,
I should have just let him go ahead
with eating the chilli prawn!

Then he won't dare to eat it again
Muahahaha!!!!

He also keeps trying to snatch my love letter
