Pepper and his 2nd refuge centre

Pepper has been a little out of odds lately,
ever since there were a door-to-door visit
to our house two nights ago

Now he keeps hiding under some bed or cupboard.

I think it's kind of our fault
because we sort of tensed up when the door was knocked
and maybe that's why he felt that there was a need to be scared

So now other than his normal "refuge centre"
which he always hides in when he is scared,
he has a second "refuge centre" to hide now

The only time when he came out was to eat a little,
then it was back in the refuge centre for him

It's rather worrying because 2 days have already passed

Stress just seems to rub off differently on him..

The most valuable chair

These few months,
Momo had developed a rather irritating habit

Imagine this:
Linda does her work on the table.
She gets up and get something,
and then returns to her chair.
Momo is lying on the chair,
when she has just went off for about 10 plus seconds!

Thing is,
there are OTHER chairs around too,
but he just had to sit on THAT chair

So Linda has to move another chair over,
then continue doing her work.

(As again, life of a poor cat mama...)

He seems to know
which chair is of higher demand.

Lonely

Miaomiao has taken to doing her ~~~ sounds
in the middle of the night nowadays,
to express her loneliness/hunger

Which is kind of irritating,
because though it's isn't exactly very loud,
it just keeps people awake

The night before,
I went to see what was going on,
only to see her sitting on the floor
by herself.
She don't even seem to be hungry at all

Something is seriously very wrong
with her kitty mind..

Some thoughts of nostagia

We had some thoughts of nostagia
when looking at the mature Miaomiao one morning

"She used to occupy just a square tile
when she just came!"

"She always followed everyone around happily"

"She would be so irritating to keep jumping
at the broom whenever someone was sweeping"

"She would run to the kitchen to look at the water coming out
whenever she heard the beeping of the washing machine"

"When we changed the litter tray,
her eyes would follow everywhere the litter scoop went"

"She would quickly run to the front door, happy that she had company,
when the whole family was back home" (Back then she was the only cat,
so she was alone at home)

The act cute trick

Sometimes it's bad that good-looking people
know that they are good-looking

Likewise,
the cats must know that they look cute.

For example,
when Miaomiao is in her pretty dress,
she somewhat seems to know that
she looks very pretty and
will lie in a rather cutesy and prissy manner

When Pepper sits in front of his food bowl

and no one feeds him,

he meows in such a heart-wenching manner

that you MUST feed him

(According to my observation,

Pepper is the one who gets away with

begging for food when it is not feeding time.

All thanks to "Orw-well!"

which seriously makes most people's hearts go soft

I suspect he knows this trick works well

and so he uses that trick on me all the time

As for Momo,

he seems to be more humble.

As far as I know,

he doesn't seem to try acting cute all the time!

Though he's still cute..

Toppling TV

Today there was a sound outside our house
and the cats were curious (as usual)
and went near the window
hoping to find out more

Momo tried to (and I emphasize here: tried to)
climb up the television.
It was on the TV console top,
and from the ground he tried to jump in one shot
to the top of the television.

Only his paws got onto the top of the television
and he could not get his butt up
(Thanksfully he doesn't have to serve in the army)
In the process he almost toppled the television.
I was nearby so I quickly hoisted his butt upwards

Jokes aside,
luckily I was there,
or the television might have toppled onto him.

He doesn't really have the habit
of jumping onto the television
so hope he doesn't do that again in future

We should install a plasma TV onto the wall
so that it doesn't have any chance of toppling over

Momo understands Chinese!

We are now thinking that
Momo may understand a little Chinese

Firstly ever since that time
when Emily just got her iPhone
and told him to wake her up
(in case her iPhone alarm didn't manage to get her up),
til now she's the only one Momo bothers to wake up
(rather faithfully every morning)

Secondly Ougwee told him to scoot off
because she needed to move this chair,
he got up and moved off,
as if on cue!

When Miaomiao feels cheated

A few days ago
Miaomiao tried her face-to-face stunt to Emily again

I got woken up and decided to go to the toilet.
It was about 4am then

Seeing me get down from the bed,
she followed me out of the room.

Then I walked to the toilet.

Being a very understanding cat
who knows that her mama also needs to use her litter tray,
she waited patiently outside the toilet.

When I came out,
she got up with a little hop,
and walked quickly towards her food area.

The mean mama went back to sleep and
shut the bedroom door
(Miaomiao was just 1 hour away from her feeding time!)

That day
Emily commented that when she woke up,
she was surprised to see Miaomiao outside the bedroom door,
looking a little smelly faced.

Probably angry with her mama for cheating her feelings
