And a new friend found!

It's such an irony that we thought
Momo would be the one who would not accept Cookie so readily

In the end he is the one who is very accepting of him now.
Since Pepper and Miaomiao are always in their exclusive clique,
so Momo finally has a companion to play with now! :D

A new friendship blossoming?

The Boat Ride

Now that we have just ordered 3 cartons of Fussy Cat wet food,
the cats (Miaomiao, Pepper and Momo) love to take "boat rides",
in which they sit in the smaller Fussy Cat carton box
and we push the box around the house while they sit

Miaomiao was taking her "boat ride" yesterday,
and as I was pushing the box along,
Cookie was in the way of the "boat"

"Neow neow!!"
Miaomiao whacked the intrusive cat in front of her.

Cookie just stayed there,
in his gong-gong manner.

"Neow neow neow!!!"
Miaomiao whacked his head again.

Luckily this time Cookie got out of the way.

And so,
the Queen continued on her "boat ride"...

The grandmother story of Cookie Monster (III)

And so we confirmed Cookie's sterilisation for Friday 17 February,
and maybe stressed like 100 times that his ear tip must be left intact,
and no, we are not using SPCA voucher

To be safe, Cookie's carrier was even labelled
"Pet Cat of Emily Quek"

To be even safer,
we put a collar on him with one of Pepper's old tag
so that it would be damn obvious he was a pet cat.

To be even even safer,
Ougwee personally reminded the vet
that Cookie Monster belonged to us
so his ear must NOT be cut

Thanksfully he came back with his ear complete.

Observations made on a morning, 20 Feb 2012

1. Miaomiao, Momo and Cookie waiting for breakfast excitedly.

2. Miaonmiao and Momo are sitting about half a metre away from each other.

3. Cookie walks towards me, walking in between the 2 elders.

4. Momo snarls at him.

5. Miaomiao helpfully sticks out her paw and whacks Cookie.

6. Poor Cookie :(

The grandmother story of Cookie Monster (II)

After we had not-so-explicitly decided to let him stay,
of course there would be other hurdles.

We were wiser and this time didn't shove the newcomer
into the three cats' face,
like we did with Momo

Cookie sleeps in Popo's room at night,
with the door closed,
so that the cats slowly get used to his presence.

And the good thing is that
Cookie Monster is so good-natured,
he doesn't retaliate when Miaomiao keeps whacking his head.
And he gives in when Momo growls at him.

Momo growled at him lesser today!

And of course,
we must always remember to let the three cats know
that they still have their place in the home,
that they will still receive hugs and kisses

As much as Pepper didn't seem to show much aversion to Cookie Monster,
he is still afraid that everyone will stop caring for him.

Once I was petting Cookie Monster,
and I didn't realise he was watching until much later.
I turned around to see him quickly run under the bed,
and refused to come out for quite a while
(To people who don't think much of cats,
they do have feelings)

So that was a reminder to me to watch out for such things.
For example,
to kiss Momo first when I reach home before Cookie,
not to let Cookie Monster eat from the three cats' food bowl etc.

The grandmother story of Cookie Monster (I)

Meet Cookie Monster, our fourth cat (yes, again)

He is the first cat coming into our family not as a kitten.
So we seriously don't know how old he is.
We estimate 8 month old (baby face, not very big body size etc.),
but vet estimates at least one year plus
(mature development of his hmm hmm)

Unlike the others who came when they were kittens,
so it was easy to estimate them as 2, 3 months of age

Anyway,
more about how he came.about:

On Thursday night 9 February 2012,
Ougwee and I were walking in the area near our home,
when we saw this ginger white cat peeing in the grass.

Ear still untipped.
Okay, we declared that he would be our next victim for stray cat sterilisation
We got the carrier down,
and Ougwee carried him and tried to put him in the carrier

1st attempt failed. He used his two paws to place against the carrier entrance
2nd attempt failed. Same
..
4th attempt failed. Same.

For some reason or other,
the ginger cat met two strangers who kept trying to trap him into a carrier
and yet he still stayed tamely in Ougwee's hands,
with his two paws still on the edge of the carrier's entrance.

Anyway, by some way or the other,
we managed to get him into the carrier.

The earliest slot we could take him for sterilisation was on Monday,
quite a few days away.

Ougwee decided to give him a bath.

After that he was allowed to walk around in Popo's room.

After that we decided he was so sweet,
we didn't bear to put him back on the street,
especially with the over-effectiveness of pest control these days

We cancelled the sterilisation slot on Monday
so that he could keep his ear.

We put up an adoption notice for Cookie

Potential adopter was hmm.. uhh uhh,
so, failed 'test'

Cookie ran off during the adoption meeting to the road
and was almost knocked down by a car

Ougwee managed to coax the scared Cookie
out from his hiding place under the car,
and we brought him back home.

I think from then on,
even though we did not explicitly say it,
we had decided to let him stay with us.,

Next day,
adoption notice taken down.

(I know story sounds disjointed, but its so long so I'm condensing the story)

Cats' Day Out (5 February 2012)

Kind of lag in posting but I don't really use my laptop nowadays.

Miaomiao and Momo went to party at NEX Serangoon,
more specifically went to cuddle with each other on the table:

Most common question asked:

"Your two cats are very close is it?"

We were like : "No, Momo keeps bullying Miaomiao so she doesn't like him"

Safety in number you see..

Miaomiao is looking pretty in the photos!

Especially this! :D

I would think the funny part of the photo taking would be this:

WHY IS MIAOMIAO MAKING GOO-GOO EYES AT THE GUY BESIDE ME??!!!

During the photo-taking I even caught Miaomiao blinking cutely at the guy.

Really ah, Miaomiao.. Tsktsk...
