MoMo: When the BIG cats has made mistakes, do not hesitate to discipline them

Just moments ago,
it was treat time for the cats! (and the kitten)
I suppose you can take it as two and a half cats.^^

The moment they hear their names being called from the kitchen
all three rushed over with those delighted expressions :)

MiaoMiao ate very delicately;
it is very important for a female cat
to have good eating etiquette
(doesn't everyone know already?)

Pepper gobbled down
the delicious treats and looked around for more

He found it at MoMo's eating area
and went over to "help" MoMo to finish the shrimps

MoMo looked at Pepper
Pity Pepper was busy eating the shrimps and did not catch his expression
MoMo decided to take matters into his own paws
since Mama didn't appear to be helping him to stop Pepper,
rather she was watching on with amusement.

So MoMo tapped his paw twice on the oblivious Pepper's head
"Hello, you are eating my shrimps."
and then continued to look at Pepper with a very disapproving and disdainful expression
(MoMo: How can such behaviour be tolerated??)
Pepper finally got the hint.

Apparently, MoMo has forgotten that
it is often HIM that snatches Pepper's food
more than the other way round.

The Vacuum Monster

Here comes the VACUUM MONSTER!!

I think it's a earthquake! I'd better hide in this cupboard here...

Ooh... I didn't know it was this COOL to be living with my mamas.

Imagine, a VACCUM MONSTER! I never got this at the mailbox...

All I saw was the postman monster...

New Cat Disease Terminologies learnt from having Momo

1. Gingvitis (Pepper was down with it a few days after he came)

2. Cat Flu

3. Lice

4. Fur Mites

5. Anal Gland Expression

6. ********* ************ (the blood parasite thing)

I hope that's about all.
Before we left the vet's room
she said: "see you guys again!"

She's nice
but I don't wanna see her til September,
when Pepper needs his vaccination

You know why.
Like why the receptionist at the hospital don't say
"Hope to see you back soon!"

Momo and MiaoMiao to the vet

Miaomiao and Momo while in the cab

In the vet's room,

we wasn't able to get Miaomiao out (as usual).

We even had to disassemble the top of the carrier,

just to get her out.

Miaomiao says she can't wait to see the vet! (Like real)

Momo was given the checkup first

While Momo was being checked,

I had the privilege of carrying Miss Miaomiao in my arms

for like 10 minutes,

while she held on to me with all her might.

This is something rather rare,

which happens only at the vet

Momo's weight is now 1.9kg,

Miaomiao's weight is 3.2kg

Which meant we were carrying out of our house,

a 5kg load until we got a cab

Lucky Pepper didn't come,

or it would have been double of that.

We asked about Momo's protruding anus,

which turned out to be a problem of "anal gland expression"

Since Momo has come to our house,

I realise that every time we take him to the vet,

I learn a new cat disease terminology

Anyway in short

the anal sacs near his anus

are full with some smelly fluids

And so the vet has expressed his anal glands

by poking a gloved hand into his butt

and squeezing somewhere in there

and her gloved hand came out with a lot of brown liquid.

And we also learnt another disease terminology:

"*********** ****************"

The word was so long that I couldn't catch half of it

But in simpler terms there was some blood parasite in Momo,

(common in stray cats)

which was probably killed off 

by the antibiotics he was prescribed for cat flu

But his gums are now pale pink,

probably because of the after effects of the blood parasites

and so he needs to be put on nutrition support

And may I mention

that I was happily carrying Miaomiao in my arms 

during the check-up

And then it was time for his deworming and vaccination

and I was seriously afraid that

he would bite the assistant or something

And one thing:

The vet kept thinking Momo was a girl,

because of his pink collar

Finally it was over for Momo

Next coming up was Miaomiao,

and I placed her on the vet's table.

Then she kept her body as close to the table as possible,

probably hoping that no one will touch her

The moment the vet touched her,

she started growling and growling

She's lucky the people at this vet clinic

are nicer than the other one

Despite her consistent growling

the assistant continued consoling her very gently

But of course she didn't bite or scratch anyone

As the vet said:

"She only big action only lah"

She just likes to scare everyone else,

but in fact she is just a timid little MiaoMiao :)

When the weather turns cold...

Curiosity is bad for the cat

Momo indeed lives up to his appearance,
that is, the kaypoh-looking cat with the mole on his face

Today MiaoMiao was doing her business
in the litter tray.
Momo, perhaps thinking that MiaoMiao
needed some help,
went over to look at the sand

(MiaoMiao: The urine I excrete is more than the water you drink.
No need to teach me!)

And guess what?
He climbed into the litter tray together with MiaoMiao
and positioned his head under MiaoMiao's tail

Thanks goodness Miaomiao did not urinate on his head.
She did, however, urinate on his paw,
which was just in the path of her urine

So Momo came out of the litter tray
with a yellow paw
Unluckily for him,
luckily for us,
I saw his paw's new colour

And so off he went to the toilet for paw-washing
and since his butt was quite smelly,
BUTT was on the agenda after PAW

And he started whining in the toilet,
which always cause MiaoMiao to position herself outside the toilet,
so that she can meow for help should the mamas turn evil
and decide to torture Momo in the toilet

Curiosity is not good for the cat,
if you know your idioms well

Learning from the big cats

He is a good climber for his size,
Miaomiao and Pepper wasn't climbing this high
when they were his age

There's more actually,
the ones he climbed up the window grille (facing corridors)
with Miaomiao.

It's just that I'm not very sure where's the photos are.

He doesn't learn the good things,
such as waiting for food patiently (like MiaoMiao)

He just learns things selectively -_-

News Update!

"Cat gets electrocuted in home and loses consciousness"

Oh...

By the way don't get too agitated over this news

For some reason or other

Momo just found it comfortable

to sleep beside an electrical socket

From his certain actions

I can never guess what is going on in his mind either

So there,

the cat with the mole

Bedtime stuff

If I'm not wrong
last night Pepper and Momo were together
a good part of the time

They were crazily jumping up and down
all over the bed,
and in my sleep I was woken up halfway,

and I opened my eye to see Pepper running past

5 seconds later,
Momo came trailing after Pepper.

This happened around 2 or 3 times

I woke up at about 9 plus,
30 minutes past my alarm
(Lucky Pepper came to wake me!)

Then he rubbed his cheek against my hand
and kneaded his paws on my mattress
(which is known as the cat "making biscuits"
something they do when they are
feeling comfortable or content)

I think whenever we sleep and wake up in the morning,
to him it feels like he haven't seen us for years,
which is why he is very very affectionate to us in the morning :)

The KABOOM Game

Miaomiao's favourite game as a kitten
was hide-and-seek

Pepper's was fetch

And Momo has his own special game too,
and the name is quite special.

It's name is "KA BOOM!!"

Basically what you have to do
is to hide behind something,
and keep calling his name
until he comes over to you

At this time you put your hands out
like in "Dragonball",
at the same time saying "KA BOOM!!"

Note that you do not have to shout,
a soft ka boom with the dragonball hands
is enough to send Momo flying off into the air

After he jumps high backwards in response to "KA BOOM!"
he comes back for another round of the dragonball hands

I suspect that he is slightly masochistic somewhat
For those who are planning to look up the dictionary,
here is the meaning (in context)
gratification gained from pain, deprivation, degradation etc
imposed or inflicted upon oneself,
either as a result of one's own action or the actions of others,
especially the tendency to seek this form of gratification

He just likes to get scared and fly off into the air.

Momo learns to scale greater heights!

A few nights ago
MiaoMiao woke me up
because she couldn't get out of the bedroom

I think she got tired of being on the bed
and decided to get out

Then after a while Pepper came to sleep with me
until 3am in the morning
when he was hungry and started meowing
and stepping all over me.

I quickly took him to his food dish,
poured some food,
and shut the bedroom door

That night I didn't have a very good sleep,
'cos it was also super warm

Then I was thinking,
lucky Momo can't get up my bed,
or there would be 3 cats disturbing me in my sleep

But I have to say,
Miaomiao doesn't wake us up much,
Pepper is the one who consistently like to
wake us up and step all over us

As I was saying,
"luckily Momo can't climb up my bed!"

Then the next day,
by some miracle,
the very tiny Momo was suddenly enlightened
as to how to scale the double decker bed

That's great,
but Momo why keep climbing up
when you don't have half a idea how to get down?

Then he sits at the edge of the bed
giving high-pitched "mews"
until someone comes to his rescue and gets him down

But the bad thing about him climbing
is that Pepper doesn't like to get too close to him

So the moment he gets up,
Pepper goes off my bed =(

Pepper still have not gotten over
not being the youngest in the cat family

But Pepper,
as Mariah Carey sings
"You'll always be my Baby"
You are steel still our baby!

Pepper is lonely...

Pepper: "I am lonely..."

MiaoMiao: "Why are you lonely? You have ME!"

Pepper: "Now you only play with Momo :( "

Pepper: "There it is! My companion!"

The photos I took got damaged :(,

so the story will have to end here.

But there were supposed to be a "kissing scene" in this story

HMMPH~~

Bathing tomorrow!

The 3 cats are going for a bath tomorrow!
Then Momo can make sure
all his lice are removed!!

HAHAHA!!!

The story of MiaoMiao's eating habit

I remember when MiaoMiao just came into our house,
smaller than our floor tile,

We fed her dry food,
(after foolishly trying to feed her milk meant for human consumption
*blush* but now we know...)

And she chewed the food,
seeming to exert a fair bit of strength with her teeth,
and out of her head were coming out
these "klong klong" sounds while she chewed

Then small bits of dry food would drop
out of her mouth every few seconds.
In the end her food dish would have
small bits of food here and there
that she would not want to touch

"Aiya, she so small, that's why cannot chew
the food properly..."
At least that's what we thought

Now she is a big cat
with two small cats under her tutelage
And she still have small food bits
dropping out of her mouth every few seconds

Worse still,
Pepper and Momo never had food dropping
out of their mouth even when they were very small

MiaoMiao's messy eating habbit
since she was young
had gave us wrong impressions about how kittens eat

And now with the messy food bits in her dish,
she looks up pleading to ask for more food

After a few seconds when no extra kibble is given
she decides that Mama may be a little slow at times
and uses her head to nudge Mama's elbow

Uh-huh, no use doing that MiaoMiao,
finish up your food first! :)
